The Kalkriese region, located near Osnabrück, is considered the location of the Varus Disaster in 9 AD, given the abundance of Roman artefacts found in the area. Consequently, the Museum and Park Kalkriese, which covers over 10 hectares, is dedicated to the Romans, the Germanic tribes, and the examination of the artefacts discovered here. The museum’s exhibition aims to spark an interest in history, particularly among children and young people.
