The detailed façade and the bell carillon in the clock tower tell the story of the Hanseatic era. While the upper floor house Emporium Hamburg’s wholesale and retail business, the first floor is dedicated to the Hanseatic Coin and Precious Metals Office (Hanseatisches Münz- und Edelmetallkontor, HAMEKO). This is where customers receive detailed advise on buying, selling and storage in the company’s own safe deposit boxes.
