Residence of Mint Master Jakob Stampfer

Jakob Stampfer is probably the best-known mint master of Zurich. He became famous for being one of the first to produce coins by machine. He did this using a rolling mint, as was later used in Hall. His coins are considered to be the finest produced in Switzerland during the late Renaissance. He struck coins not only for Zurich, but also for other clients.
